March 12, 2010 Contest Notes

The Oregon State Toastmasters held their club International Speech and Evaluation contests at this week's meeting. 14 members and 3 guests were in attendance.

Kris acted as contest chair/Toastmaster, while Robyn was the Chief Judge.

For the Evaluation contest, Janice Hallmark, our Division Governor, was the target speaker. Her speech, called "Can You Trust Your Perceptions?" was evaluated by all 4 contestants. The winner was Tim Pusack, with Aloke Gupta placing second. Joe Jenks and Danny Perry also participated.

In the Speech contest, Dave Taylor won with a speech called "Diamonds and Pebbles." Bob Hazleton placed second with "Think It'll Rain." Rachel Faber-Machacha also gave a great speech called "What You Were Born To Do."

Congratulations to all participants! Winners will compete at the Area Contest April 1.

The business meeting started last week was continued, but immediately adjourned.
