Area 32 Toastmasters Announce Speech and Evaluation Contest!

What: Area 32 - Toastmasters International Speech and Evaluation Contest
When:  Thursday, April 1, at 6:50pm
Where:  Consumers Power, 6990 West Hills Rd, Philomath
Why:  To determine who to the Division Contest
Cost: Free to attend

A talented public speaker will be chosen this month when members of three local Toastmasters clubs compete in the annual Area 32 International Speech & Evaluation contest.  The Speech contest will test the public speaking skills of speech contestants, while the Evaluation contest will test the listening and presentation skills of evaluation contestants.  Contestants may compete in either contest or both for the opportunity to advance to the Division level.
The contests will be held at the Consumers Power Building in Philomath on April 1st at 6:50 pm. The public is invited to attend this event which provides an opportunity to hear some experienced speakers using the skills they learned in their individual Toastmasters clubs.

Winners of the Area contest will move on to compete in the Division contest. Winners at the Division level compete against speakers from across Oregon in the District 7 contest. Our local entrants appreciate a large enthusiastic audience to help prepare them for the next level.  This is an exciting opportunity to get to know Toastmasters as a spectator.

Corvallis contains three of the more than 11,000 Toastmasters clubs around the world. Each club meets weekly to provide a mutually supportive environment in which members practice public speaking. Speech contests are just one more way Toastmasters members “learn by doing".  Toastmasters International is the world’s largest nonprofit educational organization devoted to communication and leadership development.
